Companies offer free trials as a customer acquisition strategy. Your email address is the asset they're collecting — it allows them to market to you during the trial, remind you before it expires, and continue marketing after you cancel. Cancel before the trial ends if you don't want to pay — usually done in account settings, no email needed
Important: If a trial requires a payment method, the charge is linked to your card — not your email. Cancelling requires going into account settings directly, not via email. Make sure you know how to cancel before the trial ends.
Getting maximum value from a trial

- Set a calendar reminder for when the trial ends — temp email means no reminder emails
- Export any data you created during the trial before cancelling
