Why free trials want your real email
Companies offer free trials as a customer acquisition strategy. Your email address is the asset they're collecting — it allows them to market to you during the trial, remind you before it expires, and continue marketing after you cancel. A temporary email lets you evaluate any product without becoming a marketing target.

How to use a temp email for a free trial
Important: If a trial requires a payment method, the charge is linked to your card — not your email. Cancelling requires going into account settings directly, not via email. Make sure you know how to cancel before the trial ends.
Getting maximum value from a trial
- Use the Extend button on Houdininbox if the verification process takes longer than 10 minutes
- Set a calendar reminder for when the trial ends — temp email means no reminder emails
- Export any data you created during the trial before cancelling
- If you decide to upgrade, you can change the account email to your real address in settings
